Complains his departure to France on the sloop Ranger has been delayed "for want of Canvis and materials" by an uncooperative agent. "With less than 30 Gallons of Rum for the Use of the whole Crew ... this alone were enough to cause a Mutiny." Jones says he has not been paid since his first embarkation, December 7, 1775.
